2. LiFePO4 Battery Cells 3.2V 10Ah Safety Test

Test Item Test Method Criteria
2.1 55℃ Short- circuit Test A oven is to be raised to the temperature of 55℃and remain for 10 minutes. A cell is placed into the oven and remain for 30 minutes~45 minutes. Then the cell is short-circuited by connecting the positive and negative terminals with copper wire which having a maximum resistance load of 5mΩ. The temperature of cell surface is monitored constantly, until the cell has reached a completely discharged state of less than 0.2 volt or the cell surface temperature has returned to ±10°C (±18°F) than ambient temperature.

2.2 Overcharge

Test(3C/10V)

A cell is discharged to cut-off voltage at a constant current of 0.2C, then it is subjected to CC/CV power by connecting its positive and negative terminal, then set the current as 3C, the voltage as 10V, and charging time is not less than 7 hours. No fire, no explosion
2.3 Forced-Discharge Test A cell is discharged to cut-off voltage 0V at a constant current of 1C. No fire, no explosion, no leakage
2.4 Crush Test A cell is to be placed on the crush flat, the axis is parallel to the crush flat, it is crushed between two flat surfaces. The crushing force is approximately 13 kN and hold for 1 minute. No fire, no explosion
2.5 Impact Test A cell is to be placed on the impact flat. A Φ15.8mm bar is to be placed on the center of the cell. A 9.1kg weight is dropped from a height of 610mm onto the cell, the distortion is allowed. No fire, no explosion

2.6 Heating

Test (130℃)

A cell is heated in a circulating air oven. The temperature of the oven is raised at a rate of 5℃±2℃ per minute to 130℃±2℃ and remain for 30 minutes before the test is discontinued. No fire, no explosion

5. Stotage & Transportation

  • Based on the character of cell, proper environment for transportation of LiFePO4 battery pack need to be created to protect the battery.
  • Battery should be stayed in the ware house -20℃~35℃ where it’s dry, clean, shade, and well-ventilated.
  • The battery should be stored in 50% SOC during transportation.
  • The battery need to be charged every 6 months if out of use.
  • Keep the battery against dropping, turning over and serious stacking during loading.
